Each treatment session is 30 minutes. But the neurofeedback treatment itself only takes a few seconds to a few minutes. It’s short and simple, and requires no focused attention, making it an ideal treatment for people with attention issues or those on the autism spectrum.

Just sit back and relax. No active participation is required. You’ll just need to stay still for the active treatment time, which lasts from a few seconds to a few minutes.

You’ll need an average of 10-20 neurofeedback sessions to see lasting change.

Over 85% of people who have used the LENS benefit significantly from it.

  • This treatment is particularly beneficial for severe cases, where one might feel “stuck” in their negative behavioral or pain patterns.
  • As we reinforce new and healthy brainwave patterns each week, they grow stronger – like exercising a muscle.

No. We’re building new neural networks. So when these new networks are stronger than the older, unhealthy ones, the brain will default to them. You’ll have the benefits for life. If your results do fade after 1-2 weeks of ending treatment, you should come back for a couple of more sessions. This indicates that the strengthening of the new neural networks is not quite complete. The goal is lasting change, which takes an average of 10-20 sessions.

Yes! We love treating children and adolescents. We treat children as young as 5 years of age.

We can still treat you if you’re on prescription medications, and taking them won’t interfere with neurofeedback treatment. However, all medication and dosage changes should be managed by your prescribing doctor.

You’ll need to stay in close contact with your physician if you’re taking any of the following medications:

  • medicine for sugar problems (diabetes)
  • medicine for thyroid problems
  • medicine for migraines and other headaches
  • medicine for seizure problems
  • medicine for emotional, thinking, or perceptual problems
  • medicine for movement problems and spasticity
  • medicine for high or low blood pressure

It’s been observed that the need for these medications often decreases as we progress through treatment. As the body requires less of them, they remain in your system unused and may begin causing side effects. Your prescribing doctor can work with you to manage any dosage changes should they become necessary.

No, neurofeedback is not yet recognized by insurance companies as a medically necessary treatment. But we do provide discounted packages to help with the financial investment.

We provide a superbill for your initial visit. Our patients generally get 40-60% back from their private insurance company if they have out of network benefits. Subsequent visits aren’t covered by insurance. If you have Medicaid, please let us know at your first visit.

In short, yes. According to Frank Duffy, MD (Neurologist, Harvard Medical Professor and Head of Neuroimaging at Boston Children’s Hospital), “the literature…suggests that EEG biofeedback therapy should play a major therapeutic role in many difficult areas. In my opinion, if any medication had demonstrated such a wide spectrum of efficacy, it would be universally accepted and widely used.”  For a list of research articles supporting the effectiveness of neurofeedback, click the button below the FAQ to learn more.

No, a referral isn’t necessary.

No, as we go through treatment, the technology will develop a map of your brain. Together, we’ll create a unique treatment plan based on your individual brain map.

Traditional neurofeedback requires conscious attention and training for 45-60 minutes per session. While traditional neurofeedback is also very effective, results are typically attained over 40 or more sessions. Patients also need to be able to focus and practice daily, which can be difficult for many people, including children.

This neurofeedback system does not require any focused attention, and you don’t need to do anything specific during the session.

This makes it an excellent option, especially for those who can’t pay attention for long periods of time and those who can’t understand instructions.

“Naturopathic doctors are educated and trained in accredited naturopathic medical colleges. They diagnose, prevent, and treat acute and chronic illness to restore and establish optimal health by supporting the person’s inherent self-healing process. Rather than just suppressing symptoms, naturopathic doctors work to identify underlying causes of illness, and develop personalized treatment plans to address them.” (American Association of Naturopathic Physicians)

No, this clinic specializes in adjunctive therapies, which are no substitute for standard medical treatment. You’ll need a separate primary care physician for your basic health care needs. If you need more specialized medical treatment, we encourage you to obtain it.
